General rule of thumb I like to follow is start your day at the back of the park and work your way toward the front to avoid masses of people. Seriously a smooth process!!Īs for your time in the park just be ready for a lot of people since it will be opening weekend. You can have it on your phone immediately after buying it and can show up for your first visit, flash the pass for parking, then get your picture taken for your first entry into the park with the pass. You have plenty of options to choose what works best for you and your niece! Regardless I would say buy the season pass online for the sake of simplicity. The two highest tiers offer unlimited visits to all six flags parks which personally I think is the best value because you have the chance to go to six flags New England or even other northeastern six flags (New England is just over an hour from Albany but is 10000x times better than the great escape which is about a 50 minute drive). The cheapest, a single park summer pass, let’s you go unlimited until Labor Day at only one six flags park. Take note that Six Flags introduced a new season pass model and now there are four choices.

It is literally like being transported back 60 years into the past it has an atmosphere that no other amusement park has.

Another park that I highly recommend is Knoebels, it's in Elysburg Pennsylvania which is a little south of Scranton. I'd only recommend going to SFGADV when your niece is over 54 in tall because most of the big ticket rides there require you to be that height. The only good ride in TGE IMO is the Comet the old wooden coaster that was moved from Crystal Beach in Ontario. You have TGE obviously but you also have Six Flags New England two hours away, Six Flags Great Adventure 3 hours away (3 1/2 if you take 287 instead of NJ 17 and NJ Turnpike), and Six Flags Darien Lake (4 hours). I'd recommend buying the extreme pass so you can get into all six flags parks in the chain because there are alot of six flags parks in the north east that are a day trip away from Albany.
